Kentucky reported 4,453 infants and toddlers for its 2012 child count.
Support service structure
A network of regional offices called points of entry coordinate local early intervention services.
Initial family contact
Families may contact the statewide First Steps office at 877-417-8377 or the points of entry serving their area. Locations and contact information are available at points of entry directory.
Services for at-risk children
Local service teams will provide information on available resources to families with children who are not eligible for early intervention services. Families may also contact the parent training and information center listed below.
Family cost participation
Families meeting certain income guidelines may be asked to pay a fee for some services. Public and private insurance may be accessed under certain conditions. More information is available at family cost share.
Insurance coverage for autism spectrum disorder services
Kentucky enacted legislation related to insurance coverage specifically for autism spectrum disorder-related services. See Kentucky insurance for more details.

The Kentucky Special Parent Involvement Network is Kentucky's parent training and information center.
