Lead agency for early intervention services
Utah's Baby Watch is part of the Utah Department of Health.
Eligibility criteria for early intervention services
Children under the age of 3 may be eligible if they have:
- Developmental delay at or below 1.5 standard deviations or at or below the seventh percentile in one or more developmental areas
- Physical or mental condition with a high probability of resulting in a developmental delay

Number of children served
Utah reported 3,557 infants and toddlers served for the 2012 child count.
Support service structure
A network of provider agencies coordinates early intervention services locally.
Initial family contact
Families may contact the provider agency serving their location or call the state Baby Watch office at 800-961-4226.
Services for at-risk children
Local service teams will provide information on available resources to families with children who are not eligible for early intervention services. Families may also contact the parent training and information center listed below.
Family cost participation
Families meeting certain income guidelines may be asked to pay a fee for some services. Public and private insurance may be accessed under certain conditions. See family cost (Section R398-020-3) for more information.
Insurance coverage for autism spectrum disorder services
Utah has not enacted legislation related to insurance coverage specifically for autism spectrum disorder-related services.

The Utah Parent Center is Utah's parent training and information center.
Early childhood school services information
